PERVIOUS CONCRETE

Pervious concrete, also known as porous or permeable concrete, is a special type of concrete with a high porosity that allows water to pass through. It is a highly beneficial material for modern construction, particularly in applications where stormwater management and environmental sustainability are priorities. Its ability to reduce runoff, recharge groundwater, and mitigate pollution makes it an excellent choice for a wide range of applications, from parking lots and driveways to public infrastructure and recreational areas.

By incorporating pervious concrete into construction projects, communities can achieve better water management, enhanced environmental quality, and improved safety and sustainability.

Pervious concrete made with RGC binders (and an innovative component to partially replace traditional aggregates)  has been demonstrated to be highly effective:

  • Excellent engineering properties obtained,

  • A step change in permeability,

  • Excellent freeze and thaw results,

  • Substantial chemical resistance and practically no absorption of heavy metals.
